Living the City

The Visconde Almeida Garrett building, located in the historic centre of the city of Almada, had suffered a fire that made it uninhabitable.

It was a building made up of two blocks, one of which was of a more traditional construction and the other of a more recent construction.

Opposite the property is a modern municipal building, so the architectural project took into account its specificity.

Two blocks

A building was created in two blocks: one with a traditional design and the other with a more modern architecture.

The new building created two apartments, one of a 4-bedroom apartment with a garden and one of a 2-bedroom apartment with a terrace.

Renewal

With this urban renewal operation, a building that was in a state of disrepair is now home to two families, regenerating the city’s housing and social network.
